Anthropogenic Noise and Its Footprint on ELF Schumann Resonance Recordings

چکیده
A set of various short artificial disturbances from rifle firings, car engine operation, radio, shakings the apparatus, etc. , were generated deliberately near our ELF recording stations in order to identify their footprint on recordings atmospheric electromagnetic radiation Schumann resonance (SR) band (from about 2–50 Hz). Such simulate anthropogenic noises hunters, hikers, campers, etc., which may occur a remote-isolated station. We expect that work will assist fellow scientists differentiate between signals created activity and real attributable geophysical phenomena.

ELF Electromagnetic Waves from Lightning: The Schumann Resonances
Lightning produces electromagnetic fields and waves in all frequency ranges. In the extremely low frequency (ELF) range below 100 Hz, the global Schumann Resonances (SR) are excited at frequencies of 8 Hz, 14 Hz, 20 Hz, etc. This review is aimed at the reader generally unfamiliar with the Schumann Resonances. First some historical context to SR research is given, followed by some theoretical ba...
متن کاملIonospheric Perturbations and Schumann Resonance Data
The properties of the first Schumann resonance mode are examined experimentally and theoretically to determine the influence of ionospheric disturbance events upon the electromagnetic earth-ionosphere cavity. On the experimental side, a phase-sensitive tracking system has been constructed to monitor the first mode peak frequency and Q on a continual basis. The tracking system monitored signals ...

Urban heat island (UHI) is one of the most focuses in urban climate study. The parameterization of the anthropogenic heat (AH) is crucial important in UHI study, but universal method to parameterize the spatial pattern of the AH is lacking now. This paper uses the NOAA DMSP/OLS nighttime light data to parameterize the spatial pattern of the AH. Two experiments were designed and performed to qua...
متن کاملPreliminary Analysis of ELF Noise
Preliminary results of analyzing extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic noise recorded in Florida and Malta are presented. The results include wideband waveforms, power density spectra, amplitude probability distributions and probability distributions for the duration of the interval between noise bursts. The distinctly non-Gaussian nature of the noise is demonstrated in a variety of way...

EMC'09/Kyoto was organized by L. R. Koga, Okayama University, and was held in Kyoto at Kyoto International Conference Center, from June 20th to 24th, 2009. This was the sixth EMC Symposium in Japan, because they have been held every five years since 1984. Number of attendee was 409 from 21 countries, though the number was less than had been expected due to the Lehman Shock which prohibited fina...
